Microlyte® SAM Antimicrobial Matrix

Infection and biofilm keep many chronic wounds locked in inflammation. Microlyte SAM is an ultra-thin, bioresorbable film that conforms to the wound's micro-contours for full surface contact, delivering effective antimicrobial protection using 50–100× less silver than conventional silver dressings — below the threshold that harms the very cells trying to heal. Because it resorbs, there is no dressing to peel away and no removal trauma to fragile new tissue.

Why we carry it

The problem it exists to solve.

Conventional silver dressings solve one problem by creating another: the silver concentrations that suppress bacteria are also toxic to the fibroblasts and keratinocytes doing the healing, and peeling the dressing off tears out the fragile new tissue underneath. Microlyte breaks that trade-off — antimicrobial control at a fraction of the silver, in a film that resorbs instead of being removed. It is what we reach for when infection risk has to be managed without setting the wound back every dressing change.
